What to expect on the course
Golfers visiting The Golf Club at Basin Harbor can expect an 18-hole course shaped by tradition, scenery, and playability. Designed by noted architect Geoffrey Cornish, the layout features gently rolling fairways, strategic bunkering, and firm, fast greens that create a round that is both enjoyable and thoughtfully challenging. The course is also walkable, giving players the option to enjoy a classic walking round or reserve a golf cart in advance, all while taking in the natural beauty along the shores of Lake Champlain.
More than a century of golf history
Few public-facing golf destinations can point to the kind of long-term golf story Basin Harbor has. The club traces its golf origins to 1916, expanded under Scottish pro Alex “Nipper” Campbell in 1927, reached 18 holes in 1955, and was modernized by Geoffrey Cornish in 1980. That history gives the course a strong sense of place and identity.
